Keg Restaurant - Keg Manor

Nothing I will say can actually reflect the good times I have had in this restaurant. This restaurant offered a great meal in a cozy atmosphere and it changed from the restaurant we decided to grab a quick meal in because of the nearness to the river to a constant dinner destination. Service was over the top, we all received our food at the same time, everything was hot and quite mouthwatering. Not theelay was big enough to become a nuisance. We were served by a waiter with a formal, yet entertaining sense of humor who could not do enough for us. His advices regarding what to order were, again, most useful.

Not bad for a few nights …

Loews Hotel Vogue was just what we needed for our quick passage through Montreal. Me and my friends stayed here for 2 nights as part of our Canad a tour and found it more than adequate to our needs. Large marble bath with a massaging tub is a plus anywhere, especially after a whole day of wondering. Staff was professional, from check in to check out, especially the restaurant staff. Eating out on the terrace was a nice touch. It is an overall good combination between luxury and comfort – not cheap, even in accordance with other hotels in its range, but the staff and the conditions beg you to stay more.

Kirin Mandarin

A good choice for a Chinese meal in downtown Vancouver. It has received many awards along the years from several critics and also has quenched my appetite more than a few times while I was in the city. The meals are good, with peking duck and the dim sum satisfying anyone’s appetite.
But it has gone down in services and up in prices lately, so I must say it went down in my choice list concerning eateries. The personnel seem like they would rather be anywhere else than on the job, meals take forever to arrive and prices have gone up with its popularity. I really hope this place won’t end up being a victim of its own success, it used to be a perfect place for some Nordic Chinese cuisine.

Hotel Kutuma

A good change from all other big-branch hotels in Montreal, the Kutuma offered me a cosy personal touch to my holiday. I absolutely loved the room décor, although the light was a bit much at first, but not much to complain about after you get used to it. Also, the bathtub made for a great stress reliever. The restaurant downstairs had great service and great food, but I only went there one night – simply too many other options in the big city. (more…)
